No. You should not engage with predictive text or any other writing assistant software during the test.
Predictive Text
Predictive text is a keyboard input method with word association and correction functions. It allows the user to be able to select words after typing the first 2-3 letters.
Make sure to disable any non-Latin alphabet keyboard input method, such as pinyin, before taking the test.
Writing Assistant Software
Writing assistant software is any application, such as Grammarly, that proofreads what you type and offers other writing suggestions.
Make sure to close these applications, in addition to any other program running on your computer, before taking the test. To do this:
- For Mac users: Right-click on the application icons and select the "quit" option.
- For Windows users: Quit all programs, then go to the system tray/notification area and close every program that is visible.
To be safe, you can also temporarily uninstall any writing assistant software before taking the test.
