ID Verification Process

Here’s how to complete the ID verification process using your phone at the beginning of the Duolingo English Test:

1. Scan the QR Code

When prompted in the desktop app, use your phone to scan the QR code shown on the screen.

2. Enter the 4-Digit Code

After scanning the QR code, a browser page will open on your phone. Enter the 4-digit code displayed in the Duolingo English Test app on your computer.

It may take a few moments for the browser page to load on your phone. Please do not close the browser until the verification process is complete.

3. Allow Camera Access

You’ll be prompted to allow access to your phone’s camera. Click ALLOW.

4. Take Face and ID Photos

You will be guided to take a photo of your face and a clear photo of your ID using your phone's camera. Please note that the photo of your face will appear on your certificate.

5. Confirm Your Information

Your name and date of birth will automatically be filled in based on your ID. Please review the information and make any necessary corrections before proceeding.
